3/5: Using Technology in the Classroom workshop, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Mabel Lee Hall 262: This session will focus on how the use of technology (from simple to more advanced technologies) combined with effective teaching strategies can positively impact student learning. This workshop will count toward CIRTL Certification.

3/12: Creating an online presence workshop, 3-5 p.m., Nebraska Union: LinkedIn, Twitter, and personal websites – you may have heard of these but knowing how to best use them to create a professional online presence may be new to you. This workshop will focus on knowing what’s out there, how to design and how to create your online presense.

3/25: Office Hours with the Dean, 5:30 p.m., Othmer 106. Participate in a conversation with College of Engineering Dean Lance Pérez, about what is currently going on in the College and the College’s future. Pizza and soda will be available.

4/3: Creating individual development plan (IDP) workshop, 3-5 p.m., Burnett Hall 107. The best way to make sure you achieve your career goals is to have a plan. An individual Development Plan helps you outline your goals and objectives and identify the best ways to develop skills to meet those goals. This workshop with focus on what an IDP looks like, programs from helping you develop them, and how to have conversations with faculty and advisors about your IDP.

4/3: Office Hours with the Dean, 5:30 p.m., PKI 158. Participate in a conversation with College of Engineering Dean Lance Pérez, about what is currently going on in the College and the College’s future. Pizza and soda will be available.

4/4: Electrical and Computer Engineering Graduate Student Association Seminar Series: Networking and Professional Communication, 5-6 p.m., SEC 237 and PKI 250. Robbie Hall, a Ph.D. graduate student from the Communications Studies Department, will be discussing methodologies for professional networking and workplace communication. The seminar will cover topics such as conference presenting, professional networking, and efficient means of communication in the workplace and for job interviewing. Participants will practice their newly learned networking skills on each other. Free food and drinks.
