The annual Global Experiences Fair, hosted by the Education Abroad Office, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Nebraska Union Plaza.
The fair will feature information on how students can study abroad, get involved in virtual internships, volunteer through global service-learning opportunities, conduct research and engage in global-local learning opportunities in the U.S. and abroad. Students can also speak with faculty members, staff and students who have hosted or participated in experiences abroad.
Previously called the Education Abroad Fair, the name change reflects one of the key initiatives outlined in the Forward Together global strategy, which focuses on expanding opportunities for students through innovative, global experiential learning in addition to traditional study abroad programs.
Through the Global Experiences Fair and other initiatives, students can seek academic and professional development opportunities that integrate the engagement between communities in the U.S. and other countries. The reimagined event also aligns with the N2025 Strategic Plan and its aims of preparing students through experiential learning to be lifelong learners and contributors to the global workforce.
With programs in over 70 countries, students will have the opportunity at the fair to find their ideal program suited to their academic needs, personal goals and professional growth. The fair will also include information related to scholarships and special funding opportunities.
To learn more about available programs, students can visit the Education Abroad website or schedule an appointment, in-person or virtual, with a coordinator by emailing educationabroad@unl.edu.
