Join the International Student and Scholar Office for an enchanting evening of food, music, and fashion at “Global Glam: An Evening of Fashion, Diversity and Community.”

This first-time event will feature international and domestic students modeling traditional clothing from various world regions, designs created by students from the Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design Department and selected garments and accessories from participating independent retailers in the Lincoln community.

"One of our goals for the evening is to create an atmosphere that highlights and celebrates some of the rich diversity we have in our UNL and Lincoln communities," International Student Success Navigators Natalie Baskin said.

Global Glam will be held Sat. March 26 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Wick Alumni Center.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Fashion show begins from 7 to 9 p.m. Patrons are kindly asked to end their evening by 10 p.m.

Cost: Tickets are $15 for UNL students, $20 for UNL staff and faculty, and $25 for Lincoln community members. Some of the proceeds will be donated to local nonprofit ECHO Collective at https://www.therefinerylnk.com/. One free raffle ticket is included with every ticket purchase. Tickets are non-refundable.

Attire: Semi-formal attire is highly encouraged. Attendees are welcome to traditional clothing that represents their culture and heritage or a favorite country from their travels.

More at Global Glam:

  • Shop at Maker's Market, which features garments and accessories created by local immigrant and refugee women affiliated with ECHO Collective.
  • Take a photo at a stylish selfie station to commemorate the evening. Sip on a soda or a glass of wine purchased from cash bar provided by Misty's bar and restaurant and listen to the intricate musical stylings of the Glenn Korff School of Music jazz trio.
  • Nosh on an extensive array of mouth-watering appetizers provided by Venue Restaurant & Lounge.
  • And buy an extra raffle ticket (or two) for a chance to win one of the unique items offered by participating local retailers.
During the show, emcee and UNL student Jamieson Battistella will be the guide, as Lincoln DJ Erin Poor entertains with funky beats to accompany the gorgeous student model-volunteers walking the runway. Students, of any size, age and gender, can still sign-up to volunteer to model their international clothing that represents their heritage and culture at https://go.unl.edu/volunteeratglobalglam as soon as possible.
