Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center Open House



April 4th
We will kick off the week with the annual JGMC Open House which will be happening at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, from 1- 3 PM. We are hosting various games, from trivia to scavenger hunt and we are giving away t-shirts!

April 5th
We have two events on Tuesday! First, we have Dish It Up with Diane Schuur, who is a Jazz vocalist and pianist. We will meet at the Unity Room or via Zoom at go.unl.edu/dish, 12- 1 PM. Second, we are featuring student art pieces at the Art Exhibition, which will be happening at the OASIS Lounge from 5- 7 PM.

April 6th
We are hosting a Pop-Up Pantry at the Unity Room from 12- 1 PM. If you have students who need pantry or hygiene items, please let them know to drop by. Special shout out to TRiO for donating and putting together these items. On Wednesday evening, we are organizing a Learn how to dance: Salsa and Bollywood session with some of our talented students. We will dance our heart away at the Heritage Room from 4- 5.30 PM.

April 7th
We have a special one on Thursday! Performance by Supaman will be happening at the Swanson Auditorium at 5 PM. Supaman is Christian Takes Gun Parrish, a Native American dancer and innovative hip-hop artist who has dedicated his life to empowering and spreading a message of hope, pride, and resilience through his original art form. The communicative talent along with the compassion that exudes from his music allows him to connect with people from all walks of life.

April 8th
The last event for this week is our Lunch and Learn. In this session, we will be discussing Disabled people, Disabled culture hosted by Amelia-Marie at the Unity Room from 12- 1 PM. RSVP at go.unl.edu/lal to secure lunch!
