The Heartland Disaster Recovery Group is non-profit formed after the 2019 flooding events to address the coordination of long-term recovery efforts in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick counties.

Heartland Disaster Recovery Group is asking for help with community projects as more volunteers are needed to help families recover from this year's disaster events.

Individuals and groups are invited to join the efforts. Groups interested in long-term volunteer opportunities will be provided with housing, showers, and meals. Groups of 6-8 would be ideal. Volunteer opportunities will be in Wood River and Dannebrog. Critical skills needed include hanging drywall, flooring, framing, painting and electrical.

If you or a group are interested, there are also opportunities for short-term events. Projects are assigned by number of volunteers and their skills.

Please help promote this volunteer opportunity.
