Nebraska Extension and UNL’s Office of Emergency Management are teaming up to ensure county Extension offices have plans in place for disasters and emergencies. The new office emergency action plan template for county offices is now available: https://unl.box.com/s/eeogezqwvkmebavxhn7gz46t4errxp8v
All counties are encouraged to complete a local plan. The effort may be coordinated by the unit leader or an assigned individual. Everyone in the office should be invited to provide input and become familiar with the plan. The time to complete a plan will vary depending on the office, but it is anticipated that 1-2 hours is sufficient. Putting together the plan’s attachments, like an office drawing or map, may require more time.
Units/offices are encouraged to submit their office emergency action plans by Friday, May 1. Plans can be submitted through this Qualtrics form: https://go.unl.edu/countyofficeeap
Note: Plans will be accepted after May 1.
Units/offices that complete the office emergency action plan will receive an image/graphic to post in newsletters and on social media platforms.
In 2019, 31 offices completed an office emergency plan last year. Last year’s impact report can be viewed here: https://unl.box.com/s/1d6yt62jjew3gm601sfn75qwo7eh8zse
