While we don’t know how each county fair will be operating this summer, one thing we do know is that for those fairs that happen, the need for hand sanitizer will be high. We are fortunate to be able to partner with the Food Processing Center to provide a limited supply of liquid hand sanitizer to support county fairs. This is 80% alcohol-based antiseptic.

The guidelines:

  • Counties can request up to 100 gallons of sanitizer per county.
  • Sanitizer is packaged in one gallon and 2.5 gallon containers.
  • Counties would need to make arrangements to pick up the product at innovation campus.
  • We will need to know at least one month in advance of the event.

Next Steps:

  • Submit your request at this website: https://handsanitizer.unl.edu/
  • In the data field for organization name, please identify your fair first: i.e., COUNTY FAIR- Seward County.
  • The sooner you can make the request, the better (if you need to change the dates later, it is relatively easy).
  • Determine how you will use and dispense the product locally (smaller containers, where the product will be placed, etc.).

Note: This material is safe to use in small quantities as described on the label, but is very flammable and can cause fires. See more information at: https://www.cdc.gov/handhygiene/firesafety/index.html
