Consider inviting Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to provide health-related support to your community events. MRC volunteers are part of a national network of community-based trained medical and public health professionals who assist their communities in activities that promote and strengthen public health, emergency response, and community resiliency.

In Nebraska, MRC is aligned with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Citizen Corps. Nebraska Extension has worked cooperatively with NEMA and Citizen Corp on a number of programs including MyPI (My Youth Preparedness Initiative).

Quinn Lewandowski is the statewide contact Nebraska Citizen Corp. Quinn indicated the MRC units across the state are continuing to strengthen their membership in order to address needs created by the pandemic. Depending on availability and the type of support needed, MRC volunteers may be able to provide basic health screenings or first aid support at local events.

Please refer to the map of Nebraska Medical Reserve Corp Regions and the MRC Unit Coordinator if you are interested in engaging with your area MRC Volunteers.
