Archived Story: This article is part of our newsletter archives. It has been preserved for reference, but the information may no longer be current.

The Rural Family Stress and Wellness workgroup encourages all Extension staff to register for a Mental Health First Aid course, scheduled just for you! Lunch is provided.

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training course designed to give key skills for helping someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis. Courses below are geared either toward adults or youth, or you may participate in both. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual following a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health illnesses and addictions. This knowledge is a valuable tool during tough times in Nebraska.
