The March 2019 flooding across the state has opened up the opportunity for outreach on hazard mitigation, flood mitigation, and flood insurance. Partnerships between the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are providing educational materials and staff that can be used for outreach events. NEMA would like to partner with local extension offices and fairs to provide this outreach during fairs across the eastern part of the state this summer. Other potential outreach events could include field days, community events, etc.
Please share the dates and locations of potential outreach venues. Then, together, we can work on further specific arrangements for our outreach staff to engage with the public.
