SPRING GEOGRAPHY JOBS ON-CAMPUS:
Farm Service Agency Slides Processing: Assist in organizing a collection of Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) digital photography slides from the mid-1980s to 2001. Examine scanned slides, verify locations, and assign identifiers using provided naming protocols. GIS Student Assistant
Department/Office: School of Natural Resources/CALMIT
Rate of Pay: ~$12-14/hr, depending on GIS experience
Working Hours: 10-20 hours/week, flexible schedule
Location: Hardin Hall, UNL East Campus
Job Description: Photo interpretation of aerial imagery using GIS software for a U.S. Forest Service Great Plains windbreak mapping project.
Responsibilities include:
- Photo interpretation using 1-meter NAIP imagery
- Creating and editing features and attributes in GIS software
- Managing raster and vector data
Skills Required:
- Experience with ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Desktop and/or ArcGIS Pro) - Knowledge of GIS data formats, organization, and management
- Familiarity with 1-meter NAIP imagery preferred.
