L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant Program
AAPG foundation announced that the L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant Program accepts applications for up to $500 until March 31, 2022. The money can be requested for equipment, fieldwork, attending conferences, and toward tuition.
Undergraduate Students
Students studying geoscience may use their portion of the grant to purchase equipment required for hands-on exploration (e.g., rock hammers and camping equipment), attend conferences, take field trips, and purchase other exploration-related materials. Individual student recipients may also apply their funds toward tuition fees.
Make sure to have the following materials ready when you begin the application.
- Unofficial transcripts
- Descriptions of extracurricular and leadership activities
- Description of intended use
- One endorsement from former teacher, mentor, professor or advisor
Student Associations (Associations, Chapters and Clubs)
Student associations are free to use their portion of the grant to support student activities through the purchase of necessary equipment (e.g., rock hammers and camping equipment) and other exploration-related materials, and/or the funding of conferences and field trips.
Make sure to have the following materials ready when you apply. You’ll need to submit them along with your application.
- Description or mission of chapter or association.
- Description of past activities and accomplishments indicating student activity level.
- Description of intended use.
- One endorsement from association academic advisor.
