What gets you excited about Geology?
Growing up in a mountainous region fostered my interest in geology, particularly in understanding rocks' diverse characteristics and formations. This unique environment provided a firsthand perspective on the natural world. It inspired me to pursue a deeper academic and professional knowledge of geology, with a focus on how rock types differ and evolve based on their environmental context.
Favorite Geology class or instructor so far? Why?
I appreciate Dr. Erin Haacker's teaching style because it not only focuses on the academic aspects but also emphasizes real-world applications. She effectively prepares us for the professional field by sharing insights on what to expect after graduation and how to be career-ready, equipping us with practical knowledge and skills that will be valuable in the workplace.
What are you excited about doing after graduation?
I am excited to return to my home country and leverage the experiences and knowledge I’ve gained to make a positive impact. I look forward to applying my skills to benefit my community and contribute to the country’s growth and development.
What is a goal you have accomplished as a Husker?
I actively seek to learn about different cultures by attending various cultural events and conversing with students worldwide. These interactions give me diverse perspectives and a deeper appreciation for the global community, enriching my personal and professional experiences.
What do you hope to cross off your “bucket list” in the next few years?
My academic goal is to complete my master’s degree, while my non-academic goal is to travel to a new country and immerse myself in new cultures. Through both, I aim to broaden my knowledge and personal horizons.
