What is Employer in Residence?

The College of Business Employer in Residence program showcases employers who recruit Nebraska Business students and provides engagement opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. A different employer participates each day.

What should I talk about with the Employer in Residence?

This opportunity is designed to be a casual environment to talk and network with employers. Here are prompts to help you start a conversation:

• Thanks for being the Employer in Residence today. Can you tell me about your organization?
• I’m not sure what I want to do with my major. What advice do you have for someone exploring their options?
• I’m a sophomore majoring in finance. Can you tell me about opportunities, positions, or departments that may be a good fit for a finance major?
• I’m a junior business administration student looking for summer internships. What does your hiring timeline look like and what positions will you have available?
• What does your internship experience look like for students?
• What skills do you look for in candidates?
• What do you enjoy most about working at your organization?

How can I meet with employers?
Employers choose to participate in-person and/or virtually this semester. Students can meet with employers in-person at the Employer in Residence booth located on the first floor in Hawks Hall, or virtually on Zoom. View the Business Career Center's weekly newsletter or College of Business calendar to see which employers are participating this semester and if they are in-person or virtual.
