Beware of these red flags when you’re applying for jobs! Unfortunately, scammers sometimes sneak their way onto job postings, so it’s important to look out for these warning signs.
- too good to be true
- request for SSN in their application process
- "easy money"
- no verifiable information
- unprofessional emails
- unusually vague job description
- search results don't add up
- no contact information
- getting hired very quickly without an interview
- your gut says it's a scam
If your gut is telling you something’s not quite right, it might be a scam! Look for openings with thorough job descriptions and trustworthy contact information. Make sure they’re not asking for confidential information like your SSN in the application process or requesting you to Venmo them back money they sent you.
Be cautious when viewing job postings and save this post so you always know how to catch those scammers!
