Overview

  • Job Title: Husker Civic Challenge powered by GivePulse Graduate Assistant
  • Hours Per Week: 19.6 hours/week
  • Position reports to: Dr. Linda Moody
  • Work Location: Cause Collective, Center for Civic Engagement, 222 NE Union and onsite in the Lincoln community
  • Compensation: $1,430.00 per month, paid in ten prorated months
  • Position Availability: August 15, 2019 thru May 15, 2020
  • Special Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Arts and in good standing with Graduate College; accepted to a Masters’ program in student affairs, leadership studies, public policy or related fields; 1-2 years of experience with serving in non-profits; and excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledgeable of and efficient with Microsoft Office and web-based platforms.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate GivePulse platform community training sessions from novice to expert. Provide a repository of tips, FAQ and zoom presentations at engage.unl.edu and causecollectivelincoln.socs.net
  2. Create GivePulse ‘tips’ on platform uses and best practices in Cause Collective bi-weekly newsletter.
  3. On-board all of Lincoln’s non-profit organizations to the Husker Civic Challenge powered by GivePulse. Assist in accepting credentials, creating organization profiles and affiliating with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
  4. Make site visits with either Cause Collective executive director or UNL service-learning director to area non-profits and for-profit businesses to establish new relationships.
  5. Create and maintain a Husker Civic Challenge powered by GivePulse Facebook page to promote events.
  6. Assist non-profits in creating and promoting “events”; verifying impacts; and assessing impacts.
  7. Create widgets of “events” to be used on Cause Collective website as well as non-profits.
  8. Attend Cause Collective monthly meetings, provide technical support for GivePulse before and after meetings.
  9. Assist Cause Collective executive director and UNL service-learning director in creating a community impact assessment program.
  10. Other duties as needed and/or assigned.
