Overview:
The Women’s Health Fellowship at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is recruiting candidates for a 2-year postdoctoral research fellowship program. The goal of the program is to cultivate women’s health researchers to develop careers that will contribute to the VA’s core mission of delivering high quality, equitable care to women Veterans.

Program Description:
This interdisciplinary program trains associated health professionals for academic research careers focused on women’s health. Individualized, mentored research and clinical training (if appropriate) is combined with a curriculum that emphasizes research best practices, study design, statistical analysis, and grant preparation. Fellows receive a stipend, health insurance, and limited support for training and research activities. There are no teaching, service, or payback requirements.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must be US citizens. Clinical (e.g., physicians, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers) and non-clinical associated health professionals (e.g., anthropologists, sociologists, health economists) with doctoral degrees (or nearing the end of their doctoral training) are eligible to apply. Candidates who are people of color or from other underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

The cover letter should specify the reasons for your interest in this particular fellowship training program, a brief overview of your previous clinical and/or research experiences, and how you see this program promoting your professional and career goals.
