Message from Dean Carr

Congratulations to graduating students and faculty mentors who've supported them throughout their programs.
Congratulations to graduating students and faculty mentors who've supported them throughout their programs.

To students earning your graduate degrees this weekend — Congratulations! Under difficult circumstances, you have persevered and completed your mission. Your success has enhanced the national and global reputation of our graduate programs and the entire University. I have no doubt you will continue to be outstanding ambassadors of the University of Nebraska.

To the faculty mentors who have guided, counseled and encouraged — Thank you! Your hard work and support of our graduate students is the bedrock of our graduate programs. Because of your efforts, there will be approximately 420 master’s and 130 doctoral students graduating this weekend. Your dedication is unmatched and I’m proud to count you all as colleagues.

On behalf of the entire staff in Graduate Studies, congratulations once again to all of our graduate students. When it is safe, my hope is that you find time to celebrate your achievement with parents, spouses, children and friends. I’m certain that their support has made your educational journey a bit less stressful.

Best wishes,
Dean Tim Carr
