The Office of Graduate Studies recently updated the Doctoral Steps to Completion webpage and the MyRED checklist for doctoral students. Both updates are detailed below.
Update #1: Doctoral Steps to Completion
Upon completion of the final examination, you will need to upload the approved version of your dissertation to ProQuest. The upload instructions now reflect the language below. Please note that UNL students are no longer required to pay ProQuest for a basic upload.
What to submit: Final dissertation in .pdf format.
ProQuest will recognize you are a UNL student and not require payment for basic upload. If placing an embargo, ProQuest will delay distribution of your dissertation. You will need to be specific about the length of time.
If requesting copyright registration through ProQuest, which is optional, complete the additional ProQuest form and pay the associated fee.
When to submit: After final formatting approval has been given by Graduate Studies.
No later than:
- April 23: May 2021 Graduation
- July 30: August 2021 Graduation
- December 3: December 2021 Graduation
Update #2: MyRED Checklist
When you view the doctoral checklist in MyRED, you will now see the message below regarding your dissertation deposit fee.
Payment is due for depositing your doctoral dissertation. Refer to Doctoral Degree Milestones for deadlines.
Pay by Credit Card ($25)
This is a standalone payment; it will not be listed in your Student Accounts charges or payments. If you have mailed a check, this “To Do” item will disappear when your check has been received and recorded.
