The Chancellor’s Diversity Commissions will host a panel discussion on how one’s collective identities can influence their attitudes about and interaction with mental health.
“Intersectionality and Belonging: Shining a Light on Mental Health,” will be held Thursday, December 2 at 4 p.m. at the Sheldon Museum of Art. Registration is encouraged.
The panel features a diverse group of experts from the university, who will engage the audience in a discussion about the impact gender, race/ethnicity, sexual identity, international status, and being a student-athlete have on a person’s attitudes about mental health.
The panel will include:
- Trey Andrews, associate director of Minority Health Disparities Initiative, assistant professor psychology and ethnic studies
- Mariah Bullock, athletic psychologist
- Falesa Ivory-Horton, counseling and psychological services
- Tierney Lorenz, Minority Health Disparities Initiative, assistant professor psychology
- Alice Mitwaruciu, assistant director, counseling and psychological services
