Student Research Poster Competition to be held at the Nebraska Water Conference

The Nebraska Water Conference will be held at the Downtown DoubleTree in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 3 and 4.
The Nebraska Water Conference will be held at the Downtown DoubleTree in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 3 and 4.

Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to share their research posters at the 2023 Nebraska Water Conference. Student posters will be presented to attendees and a panel of judges. The top three posters will receive a monetary prize.

The research poster competition is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd, and we welcome submissions that align with the following conference themes:
- Urban water management
- Flooding and flood management
- Urban agriculture
- Drinking water and sewer systems
- Tools for water management

All student presenters must register for the conference and submit an abstract. Students can register for the conference at a reduced fee of $50. The deadline to submit a poster for the competition is September 15.

Poster Competition Schedule
Tuesday, October 3
Poster set-up: 7:30 - 8:00 am
Poster Presentations and judging: 10:00 - 10:30 am
Poster Session winner announcement: 12:30 pm

Poster Submission Guidelines
Poster Format
- Maximum poster size is 48” w x 36″ h – landscape orientation only. Mandatory for competition
- Fill out the poster title and abstract when registering for the conference
- Submit posters as a .pdf file, minimum resolution of 300 dpi
- Do not use less than a 16-point font for any text you mount

Presenting a Poster On-site
- Display boards and adhesive material (e.g., pins, Velcro) will be provided.
- You must be present with your poster during the morning conference break (10-10:30 am, Tuesday, October 3) Mandatory for competition.
- Posters are welcome to be removed by 5:30 pm on Tuesday, October 3. Posters must be removed by 5 pm on Wednesday, October 4.

Awards
- First Place: $500
- Second Place: $300
- Third Place: $200
