This graduate assistantship provides support for the Assistant Director of Graduate Education Engagement. Primary responsibilities include crafting the weekly newsletter (Graduate Report) and creating graphics and fliers for the office. As a Graduate Assistant, you will work closely with our communications team to develop compelling content and visually appealing graphics that effectively convey our message and engage our audience. Additional responsibilities will include supporting professional development programming (e.g., Graduate Student Onboarding and other office events). Proficiency in time management, meeting deadlines, and achieving set objectives is essential. The role requires the ability to excel both independently and collaboratively within a team dynamic, while maintaining a professional demeanor and adaptability to evolving circumstances. This position is particularly suited for graduate students in the fields of Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism, Communication, or related fields.



Required qualifications:

Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content.
Creative thinking and a passion for visual storytelling.
Performs assigned duties and communicates status of progress to other team members.
Demonstrates understanding and willingness to engage in diversity and inclusive excellence in teaching (including professional development), research, and/or service.
Possess communication and interpersonal skills to create trusting relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
Knowledge in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Work up to 19.6 hours per week
