In response to student feedback, the hours for Love Library South have been extended to Midnight (Sunday – Thursday). The entire Love Library complex including Adele Hall Learning Commons, the Link and Love Library South will close at the same time - 12 a.m. Card access to Love North/Adele Hall Learning Commons will continue to be in place at 10 p.m.
Libraries loanable technology, formerly known as Media Services, is moving to the Adele Hall Learning Commons, Room 112, where students will benefit from having access to equipment during all hours that the learning commons service desk is open. Computers with specialty software will remain in the Link.
Student study spaces are impacted by continuing renovations in Love Library. Room 218 will be closed the entire semester and only the main floor of Room 201 (the Mezzanine Room) will be accessible. The upper mezzanine will be closed due to Fire Code while construction is underway in the adjoining room. Both areas are anticipated to reopen for Spring 2025 semester.
Standards of Conduct have been adopted across all the University Libraries. These new standards align with campus policies and outline positive behaviors.
“Love Library is one of the few buildings on campus open to the public and we’ve developed a standard of conduct to provide guidance to our visitors,” explains Toni Anaya, Associate Director, Information Services & Learning Spaces.
One standard that Anaya highlights is that motorized scooters are no longer allowed in any library space. Other buildings on campus are following the same standard. Racks are available outside where scooters and bicycles can be safely secured.

Dinsdale Family Learning Commons on East Campus will be open from 7:30 a.m. - 10 pm (Sunday-Thurday) and 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Friday-Saturday).
Architecture Library collections will be accessible until 5 p.m. (Monday-Friday).
Services for Engineering will transition to Love Library until the Libraries develop sustainable services in Kiewitt Hall. Pick up of Interlibrary loans and print course reserves need to be made at Love Library.
Geology Library hours from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Monday-Friday)
Math Library available by appointment only (8-4 p.m.) for undergraduates, with card access limited to Math faculty/staff & graduate students when Avery Hall is open. Library users will use a self-check machine for borrowing library materials. Once scheduled updates to the Avery Hall card access system are completed, access to this space will shift to NCard access for the entire UNL community during Avery Hall Building hours.
Math Library open house dates and times to learn how to use the self-check-machine are: Aug 28, 9-10 a.m.; Aug 30, 10-11 a.m.; and Sept 3, 1-2 p.m.
