OGS is thrilled to announce that Brigitte has joined as the new Associate Dean in the Office of Graduate Studies! In this key leadership role, Brigitte will guide the Graduate Student Support Team and play a central part in shaping a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive environment for our graduate students.
Brigitte brings a wealth of experience and insight from the School of Biological Sciences, where she has been a valued faculty member since 2006. Her research blends theoretical and empirical perspectives to examine the complex interplay between ecology and evolution—particularly within insect and plant systems.
Brigitte also has a strong track record in graduate education. She served on the SBS Graduate Committee for six years and most recently led as the Graduate Program Director from 2021 to 2025. Her dedication to student success extends beyond the academic year; she has directed summer research experiences with a special focus on mathematical ecology, mentoring students through REU programs and courses such as Research Skills in Theoretical Ecology.
Beyond her academic contributions, Brigitte leads a vibrant personal life filled with travel, hiking, dancing, Pilates, yoga, and reading—pursuits that reflect her boundless curiosity and enthusiasm.
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Brigitte.
