Weekly “Sit Down and Write” sessions are a social writing time for students and postdocs of all disciplines. During the two-hour session, we have four mini-blocks of focused, timed writing with short breaks between blocks. Sessions begin with goal-setting and end with a report out. These sessions are a great chance to get out of your normal environment for some focused writing and the boost that comes from the creative energy of other writers. Don’t have anything to write? If you are a graduate student or postdoc, you do! It may be making notes on and connections between papers you are reading, drafting your project proposal, or outlining your next paper, but there is always something to write. Bring your laptop and a mug for coffee or tea.

Time: Tuesdays, 1:30 - 3:30 (October 23, 30, November 13, 20, 27)
Place: Scientific Writing Lab Studio, 385 Plant Sciences Hall (East Campus)
