Description of Work

The Doctoral Programs Coordinator guides the progress of students in advanced degree programs for the PhD, EdD, DMA and Ed Spec degrees, as well as the Educational Administration and Supervision (EDAS) 6-year Certificate program housed in EDAD. Exercises independent problem solving and decision making for the application of Graduate Studies policies to doctoral students. Communicates with students, faculty, administrators and graduate support staff, providing direction for understanding procedures and interpretation of Graduate Catalog policies. Serves as a resource person to doctoral students throughout their graduate careers, from supervisory committee and program approval, through candidacy, dissertation and final graduation process. Assists with graduate commencement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in academic planning, professional development, records and registration or other student services area required.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft necessary.
  • Must have strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software required.
  • Must have strong program management skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team essential.
  • Must have experience working with persons from diverse backgrounds and sensitivity to the educational needs of diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of University processes helpful.

Posted Salary
$21.635/hr ($45,000) minimum
