Lavender Graduation

Lavender Graduation applications are open! Lavender Graduation is a special graduation ceremony that honors the achievements of graduating LGBTQA+ students on campus. If you are graduating from an undergraduate or graduate program in May, August, or December of this year, apply to participate in the ceremony!

Lavender Graduation is hosted by the LGBTQA+ Center, the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Gender and Sexual Identities, the Pride Alumni Network, and the Chancellor’s Office. Our goal is to provide a time to recognize the success in our community.

Attend the event and bring your friends to help celebrate! All members of the UNL community, family, and friends are invited!

The program includes:
- Rainbow tassels for graduates to wear at undergraduate and graduate graduation
- Lavender ropes for graduates that gave significant contributions to the LGBTQA+ community on campus
- Lavender Graduation certificates signed by the Chancellor
- Awarding the Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Contributions to the GLBT Community
- Recognizing the recipients of scholarships offered through the Gender and Sexuality Center
- Advocate appreciation
- Positive messages from UNL faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni
- Music and refreshments to share with family, friends, and well-wishers

*Please note, the application closes on April 19*
