A spring festival is planned in Maxwell Arboretum on East Campus Thursday, May 15, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. It will feature free popcorn, pizza, ice cream and trees and a reading by Nebraska State Poet Twyla Hansen.
The theme is "Evergreens for the Future." Drawings will be held for trees and a handcrafted wooden bowl. Activities also will include a reading by Hansen, a tree-planting demonstration, special displays and tours and more.
Free trees will be provided by the Nebrsaka Statewide Arboretum; free popcorn will be provided by the agronomy and horticulture department; free ice cream will be provided by the UNL Garden Friends; and free pizza will be provided by the Friends of the Maxwell Arboretum.
Free parking will be available next to the College of Dentistry.
