The fourth annual Connecting Young Nebraskans Summit will be in Kearney Nov. 7.
Kearney, Hastings and Grand Island are working together to host the conference for young leaders across Nebraska. The leaders will share ideas about how they can improve Nebraska's future.
An evening social Nov. 6 will allow time for participants to network.
"Young leaders from the tri-cities are excited to join forces to offer the state a dynamic conference, centered on professional and personal development," said Mary Berlie of Grand Island, a member of the host community team.
Keynote speaker Joe Gerstandt, co-founder of Talent Anarchy, will talk about "brave new leadership." He will discuss how authenticity, divergent thinking and constructive conflict can drive creativity and innovation for young Nebraskans and will explain the social architecture and individual practices required to unleash creativity and innovation in organizations, communities and other settings.
Gerstandt has worked with both Fortune 500 corporations and small non-profits. He is a contributor to the Workforce Diversity Network Expert Forum and his insights have been published in Diversity Executive, HR Executive, The Diversity Factor, The American Diversity Report, the Corporate Recruiting Leadership Journal, Associations Now and other print and on-line journals.
"Being bold and thinking differently about opportunities and challenges is what this summit is all about," said Jordyn Lechtenberg, UNL graduate student.
