The COVID-19 pandemic has created many obstacles for teachers and students around the world as they seek to continue student development in unprecedented circumstances. One of the biggest obstacles has been reaching students without access to technology or internet at home. With this in mind, the team at ICMEE joined forces to create a free resource for those students. The team created 9 packets in the Spring and 12 packets in the Summer, each designed and created to accommodate the learning needs of students at home. Each packet contains a week of learning activities, and the activities are interdisciplinary and play-based. The team's goal is to provide quality learning opportunities for children, and to ensure that the learning is both engaging and memorable. Because the packets are designed for multilingual learners, they are scaffolded specifically for early levels of English speakers, providing various access points to the learning and plenty of opportunities for home language reinforcement as well. The team's hope is that these packets will enable students to continue learning through these challenging times. The packets are available for free download on the ICMEE website, and schools are then able to print the packets and make them available to students as needed.
