These are exciting times at ICMEE! Besides expanding the content offerings for our eWorkshops, we have adapted our model to be used in Methods courses for pre-service teachers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Each ‘module’ (one Unit of an eWorkshop) is designed to stand alone and fit seamlessly into the existing course content. These modules afford us the opportunity to discuss emergent bilingual students across the content areas and the entire teacher education program. We are currently using modules in "Teaching Emergent bilinguals in the Elementary Classroom," "Teaching Emergent Bilinguals in the Content Areas (Secondary)," "Elementary Literacy Methods Block," "Elementary Social Studies Methods," and we have been working on Elementary Math Methods and Elementary Science Methods as well. The pre-service teachers have enjoyed the new format and feel that it provides them with additional materials and resources. And from our perspective, we couldn’t be happier to introduce them to ICMEE!
