The Writing Center is hiring Writing Consultants for the 2022-2023 academic year. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply and attend an informational session Feb. 15 or Feb. 17.

The Writing Center is hiring Writing Consultants for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Domestic and international students from all majors who enjoy working as a part of a diverse community, possess excellent communication with interpersonal skills and eagerness to learn and enjoy talking with other students about writing are highly encouraged to apply and attend an informational session.

Writing Consultants work one-on-one with writers at all levels and from all disciplines, assist with outreach workshops and presentations, and participate in ongoing staff education. The consultant position is a paid position.

The Writing Center seeks to hire a diverse staff and welcomes candidates from underrepresented, marginalized communities and identities, including but not limited to) students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, first-generation, international and multilingual students.

Students interested in applying can attend an informational session in in Andrews 102 or via Zoom at https://unl.zoom.us/s/99994466752 on:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 15 from 11:15 am to 12 pm; or
  • Thursday, Feb. 17, 2:15 pm to 3 pm.
During the informational session, students can learn more about the position and hear from current consultants about their experience. Students who have questions and are unable to attend the sessions can contact writingcenter@unl.edu.
