On behalf of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Global Affairs, the International Student & Scholar Office would like to extend our gratitude to those who attended and participated in the 2022 Global Glam: An Evening of Fashion, Diversity and Community on March 26.

More than 150 people attended this first-time celebration, where international students and domestic students modeled and showcased traditional clothing representing their heritage, cultures and traditions.

More than 40 students represented many countries worldwide — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iraq, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Sudan, Zambia and many more.

Global Glam also raised over $700 to ECHO Collective, a non-profit in Lincoln that provides economic empowerment resources and professional mentorship for Nebraska's immigrants and refugee communities.

The goal of Global Glam was to demonstrate the range of ways beauty is represented around the world. Through clothing and style, Global Glam celebrated the rich traditions and cultures that Nebraska students represented.

The success of this first-time celebration would not have been possible without the support and the collaborative efforts of students, various Nebraska campus units, Lincoln's independent retailers and communities.

Together, we celebrate the Global Nebraska community.
