The American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Commission for Global Dimensions of Student Development is hosting the 2022 International Colloquium series from April 7 to April 28.

It is free and open to anyone — from students, alumni, faculty to staff.

This year, the topics are centered around the theme of “Reimagining Social Justice in the International Community: Intersectionality Beyond Intersecting Identities”.

In the past decade, multiple events have punctuated the stasis bringing sudden and sweeping changes, while ushering in many new challenges for the international community. As the international community carries multiple identities simultaneously, these identities are dynamic and constantly shifting: from how they identify in the host culture, in the classroom and on campus, as well as within their own home and families and in their home country and culture.

The 2022 International Colloquium will engage in dynamic conversations and provide insights into issues related to social justice and intersectionality within the international community. We are offering four sessions on:

  • Complicating International Student Support: Historical Perspectives and Contemporary Issues within U.S. Higher Education on Thursday, April 7
  • Career Pathways: Legal, Professional, and Personal Perspectives of International Students’ Post-Graduation Journeys on Thursday, April 14
  • Intersecting Identities of International Faculty: Challenges and Well-being on Friday, April 15
  • Third-Culture and In-Betweeners: Navigating Unique Identities and Sometimes Missing Voices in International Higher Education on Thursday, April 28.
To learn about the time and schedule details and register here.

Participants who attended, whether live or recorded, at least 3 out of 4 sessions in the series can receive a Certificate of Completion.
