Responsibilities
UMB is looking for three interns to work in our Marketing Communication department this summer. We love giving real work to our interns – trust us, you won’t be getting coffee. We think the only way you’ll learn is by doing stuff that really matters to the success of our business.
Our Marketing Communication interns will be involved with event planning, developing marketing and promotional materials, assisting with social media and interactive marketing, conducting industry research, and collaborating on an integrated marketing communication group project.
At the end of the summer, you won’t leave UMB empty-handed. In addition to all of the real-world work samples you can add to your portfolio, we also provide our interns with a professional performance evaluation.
experience required:
• Students entering their senior year or recent graduates of accredited four-year degree program preferred. Graduate students will also be considered.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
• Must be available to work full-time for summer employment (typically May through August)
additional requirements:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Professional demeanor
• Capable of working independently and as a team player
• Ability to organize, prioritize and work under deadline
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of marketing channels, including social media
• Ability to think creatively
• Knowledge of Associated Press style
• Background/studies in journalism, marketing, communication, public relations or related field
