Newsroom Intern - New York Times (London)

The London Newsroom Intern will provide support to the London Bureau Chief and reporters while learning about the production of a digital news report. The intern must first and foremost exercise good editorial judgment. They must be organised and able to order and reorder priorities at a moment's notice. The job specifications below are meant to cover the full breadth of possible duties, but not all of these tasks will be required every day.

Responsibilities:
> Assisting the London Bureau Chief with research requests and other adhoc tasks (planning travel, itineraries, research, etc).
> Contributing to news reporting, as needed by editors.
> Translation, as needed by editors.
> Administrative duties.
> Covering the London News Assistant’s daily tasks when they are on vacation.

The ideal candidate is:
> Educated to degree level or equivalent.
> A strong, demonstrable passion in journalism.
> Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a daily production environment.
> Outstanding communication and time management skills.
> Comfortable with change and willing to adapt to the constant flow of news.
> Language skills essential.
