The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications has selected five students for the 2020 Bateman Case Study Competition.
The Bateman Case Study Competition is a national case study competition, held by the Public Relations Student Society of America, for public relations students. The competition gives students an opportunity to apply their classroom education and internship experiences to create and implement a full public relations campaign.
This is the sixth year CoJMC will enter the competition. Previous Bateman campaigns have addressed social issues related to childhood cancer, mental health, student veterans and affordable housing. This year’s team adviser is Bryan Wang, assistant professor of public relations at the CoJMC.
The best of the best journalism, media and communications collegiate programs participate in Bateman. CoJMC teams’ campaigns have earned top-3, top-16 and top-20 national finishes.
The 2020 Bateman campaign will focus on working with the U.S. Census Bureau to develop and execute and integrated communications campaign that complements the goals of the 2020 Census. The goal of the campaign will be to specifically encourage UNL students and parents of young children in Lincoln to participate in next year’s Census.
