INDIA
An Exploration of Indian Media, Communications and Culture
JULY 20, 2020 - AUGUST 5, 2020
Students can spend two and a half weeks of summer break 2020 in India expanding their knowledge of media and experiencing another culture. The education abroad team, lead by Kelli Britten and Andrea Gaghagen, will explore the differences in media and communications between India and the United States. Students will discover the communication strategies of media outlets and advertising and public relations professionals as they tailor messages to a population of over 1.3 billion people. Be prepared to gain knowledge on understanding cultural variations of content creation, storytelling and the ethics of Indian and American culture through this three-credit opportunity that will count as JOMC 491/891. TURKEY
Documenting & Discovering the Archaeological Process
JULY 13, 2020 - AUGUST 14, 2020
Students can spend four weeks of summer break 2020 in Turkey, where they will have a unique hands-on opportunity to interact with drone aerial imaging and immersive media at an archaeological site. Faculty member Kristian Anderson will be leading students in learning about story development and compelling shooting techniques, while also teaching the basic field knowledge of archeology in a Roman dig site.
