Three-week presession; travel May 20-27
Enhance your advertising, public relations and journalistic skills and techniques by being part of the team covering the preparations for the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. You will learn multimedia storytelling techniques, mobile technologies and improve your social media skills. We will travel to Charlotte to put those new skills to work in both journalistic storytelling and in analyzing PR and marketing strategies.
This trip is not to cover the convention itself or to engage in party politics. This is to see what kinds of changes a city must go through in order to host this type of event. You will learn valuable skills that will enhance your abilities and opportunities in other classes and get the chance to travel to a different part of the country.
