Calling all students! Join this free webinar on Friday, May 1 to learn how to best prepare for summer and beyond with or without an internship amid COVID-19.

By now, students would be finalizing plans for a summer internship and looking forward to getting into their first newsroom. But due to COVID-19 concerns, students are instead seeing internship opportunities dry up altogether, or will have a very different experience likely having to work remote. Learn from experts on how to make the most out of this summer to keep you on the journalism career-bound track.

Panelists include Chip Mahaney of the E.W. Scripps Company; Linda Shockley of the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund; and Norma Guerra Gaier of the University of Texas at Austin. Francisco Vara-Orta and Lauren Grandestaff of IRE and Steven Chappell of CMA will moderate the discussion.

The webinar will also be recorded and posted on the IRE website for those who cannot attend live. The webinar is free and available to members and non-members of IRE.

Time: May 1, 2020 1 PM Eastern Time; 12 PM Central Time (US and Canada)
