The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration is initiating a new business minor this fall that will be much more attractive to non-business students than the previous minor in business. First, this minor is only 18 hours (the previous minor was at least 30 hours). Second, the minor has been designed especially for non-business students and each course takes that unique perspective. The new minor focuses on an overview of business practices in six different of the most critical areas of business: – accounting, business law, economics, finance, marketing and management. The new minor, initiated by the College of Business Administration gives non-business majors a chance to earn a business minor that will make them more marketable to any type of organization upon graduation. Anyone who takes this minor will leave UNL with the basic business knowledge and skills they need in their first job after college. Students can register for the new business minor classes this spring.
