The Associated Press (AP) elections team is seeking candidates to assist in scraping election night results data for upcoming primaries and the 2020 general election. Candidates will work with time-sensitive live results data on election nights. While no coding will be required, a foundation of data journalism skills and best practices will be essential. Candidates will receive hands-on training and experience in various aspects of the election night data flow while working alongside the AP’s election tabulation and quality control team and development team.
The pay rate is $16/hr and the work will be done remotely on election nights from poll closing time (often 7-9 p.m. eastern) and will continue into the night for approximately 6-8 hours. Candidates will receive training prior to election night and will be assigned to election nights as needed.
