Communications Specialist - Associated General Contractors (Lincoln, NE)

Associated General Contractors of Nebraska is seeking a Communications Specialist responsible for sharing all the important work our association and our members accomplish. The communications specialist plays a key role in carrying out the tenants of the AGC strategic plan. He/she will be responsible for managing the timelines for and executing all daily promotional communications as well as seeking ideas and opportunities for new ones. This includes writing and designing e-mails, newsletters, website and social media content, surveys and more. This position will also be responsible for managing the front of office and greeting visitors. Reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating with the Member Services Coordinator, the Communications Specialist will provide support to the Director as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Create all promotional chapter communications including but not limited to: biweekly e-newsletter, website and social media updates, member emails, print/mail materials, newspaper announcements, annual reports, chapter member surveys, email communications to the board and committees, and promotional materials for membership (brochures, postcards, etc.) and events (registration forms, signage, badges and booklets).
> Collaborate with the Member Services Coordinator on member promotions and events.
> Manage communications timelines. Ensure all needed information is gathered and communications are executed on time and on budget.
> Manage and maintain technical website updates, the membership directory, list serves and more.
> Manage the front office by greeting visitors, answering phones, sending mailings and handling daily cash receipts and deposits.
> Organize and manage chapter meetings and develop and manage non-technical committees including but not limited to: Future Leadership Council, AGC Construction Club and the Associates Committee.
> Assist the Executive Director with messages to the membership and communicating to/organizing meetings with the: Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Highway Improvement PAC, Workforce Development Task Force, UNL Student AGC Chapter and Liaison Committee.
> Participate in current and prospective member meetings, networking events, etc. as required.
> Opportunities for future growth into creating new business opportunities, and seeking internal advertising and communications opportunities.
