Brent Bartels placed third in the Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts Student Sports Competition’s Radio Sports Story/Feature/News category on March 2, 2021, for his entry, “Jon Miller, Baseball Storyteller.”
Bartels graduated with double majors in broadcasting and sports media and communication from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications in December 2020.
He is currently employed as a media and public relations manager with the Beloit Snappers, a Minor League Baseball team in Beloit, Wisconsin.
The BEA Festival of Media Arts is an international exhibition of award-winning faculty & student works chosen in the following competitions: Audio, Documentary, Film & Video, Interactive Media & Emerging Technologies, International News, Scriptwriting, Sports, and Two-year Colleges. Winners receive recognition and exhibition of their works during the BEA’s annual convention.
