Anchor/Multimedia Journalist - Dakota News Now (Sioux Falls, SD)

Dakota News Now is looking for a dynamic Anchor/Multimedia Journalist to join our newsroom. The ideal candidate will anchor the weekend evening newscasts and report three days per week.

We’re looking for someone with great news sense, intelligence, and energy. The ideal candidate must be able to produce compelling newscasts and memorable stories.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills both on the air and in the newsroom. Someone who can handle breaking news situations on the air is a must. Time management skills are key. You should also be skilled in social media and online news production.

You will be responsible for shooting, writing, voicing, and editing stories for television and internet. Live reports will also be expected. The ideal candidate must be able to work odd hours to complete assigned stories and cover breaking news. You must be able to carry 35 to 45 pounds of equipment. A valid driver’s license as well as a safe driving record is necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field is required. Anchoring and producing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

This position reports directly to the news director.
