Apply now to work with the nation’s top journalism students to produce in-depth news coverage and innovative digital storytelling that is published in national media outlets.

As a News21 fellow, you’ll study a critical national issue during a spring distance seminar and do reporting in the summer at Arizona State University under the guidance of Len Downie Jr., former editor of The Washington Post, and other top professional journalists.

This year’s reporting project will focus on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their re-entry into civilian life.

The current News21 project, “Who can Vote,” has gotten prominent play on nbc.com and in The Washington Post as well as with numerous other publications around the country. The website has received more than 5 million page views, a News21 record. You can see that project here: http://votingrights.news21.com/.

Applicants should have completed at least one internship and have taken Journalism 450 by the end the 2012-13 academic year.
