Fellowship in Phoenix in January

Multimedia journalism students of color who are within 12 months of graduation are encouraged to apply for the sixth annual Meredith-Cronkite Fellowship in Phoenix Jan. 6-11. Ten top students from leading U.S. journalism schools will be immersed into the newsroom of KPHO-TV, the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, the nation’s 13th largest market. The fellows will have the unique opportunity to be part of the KPHO news team and produce their own reports with KPHO staff throughout the week. Fellows also will participate in seminars with leading KPHO journalists and executives. The Meredith-Cronkite program, which will go far beyond any previous internship-type experience for your students, will end with the fellows producing a newscast that should provide an outstanding resume tape.

Each out-of-town fellow will receive a $2,000 stipend to cover travel, meal, hotel and other expenses.

The program is a partnership of Meredith Corporation, the parent company of KPHO-TV, and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Meredith Corporation is supporting this program in the hopes of recruiting top students of color into their 14 TV stations around the country.

Interested students should send a cover letter, resume DVD and a list of three references to:
