Graphic design internship (EdMedia)

Ed Media is offering a graphic design internship with an immediate start date.

DESCRIPTION
Educational Media (EdMedia) is seeking an intern for our graphic design area. EdMedia assists in the dissemination of research-based information from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR).

Through this internship program, the student will receive real-world experiences in the conceptualization and production of graphical designed materials to enhance the image of and help communicate the messages of IANR and the university. By using various fine art and graphic design techniques, the intern will create illustrations and layouts to produce the desired final product. He/she will work with others in the coordination of print communications and production of jobs for IANR/UNL educational/informational and marketing/promotional materials.

INTERNSHIP DUTIES
While working closely with senior designers, the intern will develop and prepare artwork and design using the Adobe Creative Suite software package for production.

Other responsibilities include:
• Consulting and coordinating with colleagues to produce the desired materials needed to solve publications' and electronic deliveries' objectives
• Producing work that meets University Design Standards and Toolbox requirements
• Reporting progress weekly to coordinate total office schedule
• Working with publishing, printing and photography staff, multimedia design specialists, marketing, pre-press and production vendors while monitoring work schedule to assure completion within the appropriate time frame

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Nebraska Wesleyan or Southeast Community College.
• Must have expertise using Creative Suite and Microsoft products.
• Must be a self-starter and willing to coordinate effectively with EdMedia staff, IANR faculty and staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Must be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week between during semester/term (spring, summer, fall) in which you are completing your internship.

COMPENSATION
$9.00 to $10.00 per hour depending on experience.
