Alum Michelle Walenz, senior VP at ABC Family, to visit college

Michelle Walenz, a broadcasting graduate, returns to UNL this week as an alumni master, ready to speak to classes and visit with students.

Walenz was named senior vice president, marketing, creative and branding at ABC Family in August 2012. She will be available for coffee and conversation from 10-11 a.m. Friday in the Hitchcock Center, north end of the main floor of Andersen Hall. Broadcasting and advertising students are particularly encouraged to stop by and talk with her, but all CoJMC students are welcome.

Walenz oversees all marketing, creative and branding for the network. Her duties include oversight and strategic planning, creative development and implementation of all on-air and off-air marketing, as well as creative implementation of all integrated marketing for the channel. Walenz is responsible for setting the network’s brand vision and serves as the branding lens for all marketing. She had been senior vice president and creative director for ABC Family since May 2007.
