Video Production in Russia course - APPLICATION DEADLINE Feb 15

Students and faculty will spend three weeks in Moscow, the dates are May 20-June 7 in-country stay. The cost of the trip is approximately $4000, but it depends on the final number of students. There are a few scholarships available. Please refer to the Education Abroad website for more information. The Global Gateway scholarship is $1500 and there are quite a few of those available, but as you may imagine, they are coveted. There is a tentative budget which explains the trips costs and the academic costs.

Moscow is one of Europe's finest touring destinations as well as an incredible place filled with culture and tradition. We will be working with students from Moscow State University, the most prestigious University in Russia, as well ads touring some spectacular museums and sites of global interest.

Course objectives:
In this class you will have the opportunity to select the topic (News/information, advertising Public Relations) that you like to work on and to develop the stories with your Russian counterparts. Starting in the Spring semester we will visit our Russian teammates via Skype 3 times prior to departure.

The objective's of the class are:

To develop stories of general interest in journalism, advertising and/or public relations
To provide you with an opportunity to work in groups with Russian students
To learn research and writing skills for television
To learn video design and production
To experience another culture
To have the best time of your life

You would receive 3-credits for the course, which counts towards your electives and ACE 10 and it could count towards your Vis Lit 163 Video requirements (ACE 2).
